REAL FOOD MAYO

Here is a recipe for Real Food Mayo.   Oil is the base of this recipe so when I eat it in a meal I add it as a fat.  Such a yummy fat and really makes a great dressing for Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad or Egg Salad.  This is a staple in my kitchen.

Here is What You Need: 

  • 1 Whole egg
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup walnut oil (or light tasting oil if you are sensitive to nuts or nut oils light olive oil is great and avocado oil is perfect)

Here is How to Do It:

Place all ingredients in a blender except the oil.  Start on a slow speed and blend all ingredients together.  Next, slowly add the oil in a very thin stream to the mixture.  Patience and a sore shoulder is the trick, the stream has be be very thin.  As you add the oil also increase the speed to high on the blender and watch it thicken up.
